Data and purposes
Bond manages pet profiles, photos, events, reminders and favourites. User content may include owners’ and contacts’ names, contact details, addresses, notes and photographs of people. It is stored on the device to provide the requested features. No Bond account is required.
iCloud backup
Backup uses CloudKit in the user’s private iCloud database. It may contain profiles, photos, events, favourites and preferences. Automatic backup is initially enabled and can be disabled in the app’s settings; it requires iCloud availability. Disabling it does not necessarily delete an existing copy. Apple services are subject to Apple’s terms and privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Permissions and external services
Photos and camera access allow you to add images; saving to your photo library happens at your request. If authorised, location is used to find nearby places through Apple Maps; Bond does not keep a location history. Reminders use local notifications, which may display names and event details on the lock screen according to device settings. Sharing, exports and visits to external websites are initiated by you. Your chosen recipients and services apply their own privacy policies.
Support
When you send an email, the recipient receives your address, message and any attachments you select to handle your request. Bond does not automatically attach your personal archive. Privacy enquiries can be sent to the address above.
Support emails are retained for 6 months after the request is closed, unless legal obligations or disputes require longer retention.
Advertising and analytics
The reviewed version includes no advertising, advertising trackers or third-party analytics services. It does not send your personal archive to a developer-operated server. Any diagnostic information managed by Apple depends on its services and your choices.
Retention and control
Local content remains available while retained in the app. You can edit or delete individual content and export a backup. iCloud copies, device backups, exported files and previously shared content have separate retention: deleting local content or uninstalling the app does not guarantee deletion of those copies. Exported files are not encrypted by the app; store them appropriately. Permissions can be revoked in iOS settings.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, object where applicable, and withdraw any consent without affecting earlier processing. You may complain to the competent supervisory authority. The developer cannot directly retrieve data stored only on your device.
Updates
This notice covers the Bond app. Processing by the website hosting this page must be described separately. Material changes to the app will require an updated notice.
Legal basis for communications
We process the data necessary to answer service-related requests to perform the requested service (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Rights requests and other mandatory requirements are handled to comply with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)). Retention strictly necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims is based on the legitimate interest in protecting our rights (Article 6(1)(f)). Providing contact data is optional, but without contact details and necessary information we may be unable to reply. Device permissions control feature access and do not replace these legal bases.
Recipients and email services
Julian Gunasekara handles support and privacy requests exclusively through iCloud Mail, with no additional customer management services. Apple provides email services and processes communications under the applicable service terms. Information about Apple’s processing, international transfers and safeguards is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/. Data may also be disclosed to authorities where legally required. We do not use requests to send advertising.
